Op. Dr. Erman Ak is a Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist based in Istanbul, Turkey, with an international level of experience, known for facial, breast, and body contouring surgeries in the field of aesthetic surgery. With modern aesthetic approaches, a natural-results-oriented surgical philosophy, and an artistic perspective, he is one of the pioneering names in aesthetic surgery.

Education and Academic Career

Dr. Erman Ak completed his primary and secondary education in Mersin and graduated from Mersin Science High School. After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2014, he began his specialization training at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

During his residency years, he played an active role in hand surgery, congenital hand anomalies, nerve transfers, and microsurgical operations, and gained extensive experience in facial surgery.

International Training and Scientific Work

In 2018, he received advanced microsurgery training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan with Prof. Dr. Fu Chan Wei. In 2019, he delivered an oral presentation on “ALT flaps” at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery congress held in Bologna. He completed his specialization training with his thesis titled “Investigation of Donor Site Morbidity After Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flaps.”

After completing his specialization, he took part in the establishment of the Plastic Surgery Department at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital and served as the department head for a long time. During this period, he performed the hospital’s first jaw bone grafting surgery.

In 2022, he carried out advanced studies in facial and breast aesthetics for three months in Italy at Villa Bella Clinic together with Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti and Chiara Botti as an ISAPS fellow. In 2021, he was awarded the European Union Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Qualification by the European Board of Plastic Surgery (EBOPRAS).
